Last weekend we went to Bear Lake with my family. We spent two nights there and had so much fun. It was nice to have something to look forward to after summer ended.
Bundy was so happy to have people stay up well past midnight with him to play his favorite game, Settlers of Zerahemla. Thanks guys for humoring him :)
In true Skeen style we of course had an athletic event at some point. We put a race together for the kids and were delighted in the children's endurance. Jaken may not have won for speed but he definitely took first place in stamina. The kids loved it!
On the beach my dad put together another competition for families. There were items out in the water that one member of the team had to swim out and retrieve. Then we had certain structure requirements we had to maintain and then we would be scored on who had the highest sand castle. It was a very clever and fun activity.
Before leaving the beach we were able to get in a great game of Ultimate Frisbee. Sara/Rosalie Cullen was my defender and she is something fierce to compete with. Even though she used some of her vampire skills I was pleased with myself for still being able to score points for our team. Better luck next time Roaslie :)
We took the kids to the pool a few times and that really added to the whole experience. It was nice when we put all the kids to bed and then went down for the adult swim. Emma is such a brave little water girl, it's a good thing, but also a dangerous thing. Definitely first priority is to get her some swim lessons next summer.
This was the sunset as we were packing up, just beautiful! We couldn't have asked for nicer weather this time of year. I so badly wish Stacey and her family would have been there with us, but I think that's in the plans for next year. Thanks so much mom and dad for making this happen. We really did have so much fun!

That sounds awesome! We really need to get up there soon.
Hmm, that cabin looks very familiar. Hope you enjoyed its hugeness!
HOW FUN! I'm really am so jealous! Emma looks so cute in her swim suit and I love that your family always has an agenda with fun games and competition. That cabin looks awesome! How was the water temp? I think our days of sandy beaches are over for this summer. . .): Let's make lots of plans for the fall/winter before I go CRAZY!(:
So don't worry, we didn't even attempt to park in the driveway but just parked on the road up top and walked down. We did try going down at first and I almost lost my lunch.
More competitions and agendas? Who won first place and was there any cat fights?
Way to be the first to post out of your mom and sisters! That looks like so much fun. You probably didn't finish "breaking dawn?" that's fine- you can give it to me whenever I see you next. I love Sara's nickname. Funny. Did you end up sharing the cookies or just hording them?
Looks like a good time was had by all. The Lindley cabin is great for family get togethers and it is so nice of them to share it with all of us. Fun pictures! It looks like the weather was fabulous.
That sounds like so fun! I love that Emma always has a little wedgie in that swimming suit. Every time I've seen her in it, it's been on the same side, maybe something is wrong with it. Wasn't the water cold?! or not yet? That is nice that you guys had something to look forward to after summer. Now what? I guess you'll have to settle for looking forward to doing something with us.... :)
Your family is so cute. I wish my family would do fun activities like that. We are lucky when we play games...LOL! So I was clicking on your links on your blog and found your mom.. Man, does cuteness just run in your family, seriously. She is so cute and so crafty! Anyway, that truck is in somebody's yard in Pleasant View... Since I took the picture they have put some big white trailer blocking it! But, when they move it, I'll let you know!
Hey Lindsay it was so fun to come see your cute home last week! You have amazing decorating skills, I want you to come decorate my house! Your blog is so cute, it looks like your family has so many fun memories!
What a fun vacation. My kids are "Settler" fans too. Last New Years the loosers had to jump in the pool,no it's not heated. Love you cute pictures of your baby she is a doll.
